Cree Q5 LED Drop-in Module (3.7V~18V Input) will this bulb work with a ryobi 18v battery directly connected? I would like to mount battery with the lower part of the flash light mounted to my frame and run a wire to a custom head lamp. You did not state the capacity of the battery...
You also need to check the battery right off of the charger for actual voltage! I would bet it is higher than 18V.

usually if batt is 18v, fully charged it is a bit higher, 1-2 volts,
i ran 12v mr 16 with 14,4 nicd pack from dewalt drill, worked just fine, in both 20w and 50w.
runtime i can't tell you cuz a large Ryobi lithium battery isn't an amps hour rating.
calculatre it, battery capacity\bulb draw= runtime(thou it is in theory, realty might be different)

Thanks for the responses! The batteries are 2.4ah and 1.4 ah, I will check the voltage. Can I hook up this bulb directly http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11836.
