Target Stores have announced a recall on 600,000 Halloween flashlights due to over-heating and burning.

They appear to be 1-AA keychain size. Is it even possible for a light this size to be so poorly designed that it could actually over-heat? Is there even enough energy in one AA battery for this to happen? It does not look like batteries were included, so I guess you could rule out cheap poorly made Chinese batteries as the cause.
