The prototype has been completed. To keep cost down the LED used is the Cree-MCE LED behind the 35mm Fraen reflector. As you can see the heatsink is massive thermal issues are not going to be an issue. Now the question how many people would be interested in this at $89 Delivered (US)

1D size light powered via a single 18650 cell or larger.
3D Size light with either Alkalines or High capacity NiMH cells
4D Size light with either Alkalines or High capacity NiMH cells

Re: High Powered "D" Maglite Drop in *Feeler*

I just received two Malkoff XPG drop-ins but I would much rather have these instead because of the multiple levels and higher output.

Any chance you will make any for a Mag C? Same question a Glock, could these be used in a mag with a side switch removed? I have two Modamag tail clickies that I would like to use in a Mag C that the side switch has been removed/ cut out.

I would be in for 1-2.

These would be designed specifically for a stock Maglite. If there is enough interest I could make them for "C" or "D" lights.

Sorry Mac

No problem Mac, completely understandable.

What would qualify as enough interest (5-10, 10-20) to make them for a Mag C?

I would still be in for at least one for a Mag D.

2.8A version for Mag C, 5A version for Mag D would be great

All the drop-ins would be the same. The options I listed where suitable options for supplying the power to the drop-in.

I'd be interested in one, perhaps two. Would you use J-bin, 5700k SST-50s?

Re: High Powered "D" Maglite Drop in *Feeler*

I would be interested. The host is so inexpensive maybe this is a good option for lots of light ?

Where can you get glass lenses and OP reflectors for Maglites though?
Can a stock swicth handle high amps or does that need to be modded also?

Would definitely be interested in a C sized version. I've got an 2C sitting here that I've been waiting to make bright since I figured out I couldn't cram an hid in there haha.

I'm intrigued. Can you elaborate on input voltage requirements? I'm interested in a C version.
