The excitement builds.![]()
Let me upload some fresh pics and beamshots
Blue anodized 18650 body kit
Marking close up
Forest green anodizing

You can peek in the last shot I also printed a custom card to mate the light details and serial number, I wanted every detail to match.
But back to beamshots.
I finally went for the very light orange peel to be safe for a clean beam because I have no seen much difference in lux reading.
You can compare below my Iris on high with my other edc a Novatac 120 at max level
I got a lux reading at 1 m of ~1800 lux for the Novatac and ~ 5800 for the Iris.
Novatac on the left and Iris on the right

These look very nice indeed!
PP sent for 1x orange IRIS, EDC interface.
Resistance is futile...
Wowww this is a great light! I'd order one right away, yet my flashlight budget is very limited nowadays... It's a gorgeous light, and MADE IN ITALY, amazing![]()
I could use one in the Swedish darkness

Yeehaw!
Belgium chocolate and Italian vanilla in the Swedish darkness .......

Great looking light. Looking at the pics, the quality of the worksmanship seems high.
Time to save up some funds, this light is going on my wish list.
Some news:
I am exeperiencing some problems in hard anodizing, I prefer remove from the available options black and natural HAIII coating.
I am still accepting orders on bare finish and colored anodize, until the end of the week. Then I'll close orders.
It cost me many time and money makeing one light at the time with different finish and different serial number and I need to find a soultion with my hard anodizer.
If you want one now it's your chance to get it![]()
Arggg - now that is the way to drum up orders (say you are going to shutdown for a while)! Other than offering everything I want (18650 body, lanyard attachment, etc...).
Now I have to make a decision......(those are actually pistachio nuts)
(and while not drunk - yet - Guiness).
Great looking light.
Any feedback from folks who have received their lights?
Cool stuff!Unique Transaction ID #3W5154788U785344V

Hope I can get the 18650 tube some time in the future.
Can`t wait to hold it in my hands.
Very cool light!
I have to ask the stupidest thing ever. Is there something about Italy and vanilla scented rubber? I once received a home made compass encased in rubber from someone retired in Italy and it smelled like vanilla tobacco. I thought this was strange and thought nothing about it until you specifically mentioned this.
Sei un vero artista, Davide!
How much is it for both CR123 and 18650 bodies?
Also, is there any idea of approx lumen output?
Got it!!!
Serial #003. My pictures aren't as nice as Davide's, but enjoy!!!
And here's one with some new friends....
Nice work Davide, it's definitely a keeper!!!
If you were on the fence, JUMP OFF while you still can.![]()
Thanks for the eyecandy!! I am also waiting for the bare Al.
Is it possible to get an additional smooth reflector? I want maximum throw. Don't care about minor artifacts.
Well, I think Italy is a good exporter of rubber worlwide, from fashion shoes to mechanical and industrial companies.
An example. I live near Vibram which is a company that I just realize is making rubber soles for american Belleville boots also equipped by some USA Marine solders.
But back to the light, I actually got the idea from the watch world.
Many italian luxury watches come with a rubber strap, which has a nice scent of vanilla. I notice that often in the watch world an italian rubber strap means it has a unique vanilla scent.
It costed me a lot of money to make a custom mould for this tailcap but I think the vanilla scent adds a very nice touch to the value of the light.

No problem, I wrote down your preference.
Grazie mille!
A Cr123/RCR123 Iris is 130 Euro and a 18650 Iris is 142 Euro
An extra 18650 body kit is 45 Euro
Please notice that they both use the same driver: similar output but doubled runtime and different form factor for te 18650 body. You can ONLY load it with a single 18650 3.7v cell , 2 primaries would probably damage the driver.
From a primary cell I measured s 625ma current draw and I calculated around 240 lumens at the emitter. I don't have an intergrated sphere but the reflector and UCL 99% light transmission lens should let out the front the most of them.
You may notice a sligthly increase in output using li-ion 3.7v cells. I measured a current draw of 650ma with a RCR123 and 685ma with a 18650 cell.
I'll see what I can dobut in my test I did not found a real noticeable different value in lux measurament between the smooth and low orange peel that's why I ended using the low orange peel.
I would deeply regret missing out one of these beauties.
Paypal on its way for an Iris in orange, 123 body, edc interface, US shipped![]()
Thanks ejot for your order!
I left out this,
At the moment I'm not taking any orders on the hard anodize finish and, by the end of the week, (Sunday 7th March) I'm closing orders on the aluminium Iris flashilght.
My dayjob is getting me busier and I need to find a different way to work with my light projects. I don't know when and how I will offer more aluminium Iris, but if so they won't be with serial number again.
Next up, Ti IRIS!!
Serial number 001 arrived today. My photos below are terrible compared to those in the OP, but I'll post them anyway.
This light is beautiful in every way. I am very happy. The beam is tremendous with no artifacts. The hotspot is nice with very good side spill. A nice combination of throw and flood. The tint is white. I am also a huge vanilla fan so I must keep this light away from my mouth because the tailcap smells phenominal.
Davide,
Thank you very much.
I wish I would have received this last week so I could have ordered an orange one with the 18650 body before you stopped taking orders, but I understand about your work schedule taking precedence. Most around here missed out on this beauty.

Thanks a lot for your feeback, it's always great to see other pics then mine!
I notice in your pics the markings are not exactly aligned, if you wish you may screw it further head and body will be perfectly aligned
I am just using a point and shoto camera with a homemade lightbox tent.
I learnt that light is everything, also in photography
By the way, the last ordered lights are already been engraved at the moment, I think to anodize them later this week for a fast shipping.
Here's a old pic to see what I mean: (please don't care for the subject, that was some of my past ti work)

I managed to ship the last couple Iris today!
Thanks all for your support!
Here they are for a last shot before leaving:
