Putting a MN02 lamp into a P60 for a Surefire G2

I'm wondering If I could take the lamp out of a MN02 and use it to replaced the lamp in the P61.
I could then run it in my G2-BK to get 25 lums and 2.5 hour run time like the Surefire outdoorsman.

Has anyone tried anything like this before?
Do you think it would work or just be a waste of time and money?

Thanks,

How about getting the KL3 instead? you will get a white light and longer run time and minus all the work /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Will the KL3 make the flashlight larger?
Is it really "white" or are they like the KL1's
They are also only 19 lums. The MN02 is brighter, correct?

My KL3 is the same color as my KL1.
The KL3 is quit alot larger than the head on my C2, but it's
a neat looking head. It has cooling fins. I don't use mine
because of the size. I don't use the MN02 so I can' compare
them, but I would prefer the KL3 to the MN02 for longer
runtime. If I want throw I use MN03. If you have a E2e/KL1
I would prefer that to G2/KL3, because of the size.
I don't see any real difference in the light output of KL1
& KL3.
The KL3 fits the G2, but the MN02 doesn't.
The KL3 looks good on G2-BK IMO.
Yes the KL3 will make the G2 larger.

The KL3 is big, bulky and heavy. The two I've seen were unpleasantly (for me) purple. The MN02 is brighter at 25 lumens.

However, the KL3's beam illuminates a wider area than the KL1 and gives the impression of a greater amount of light in addition to providing extended regulated runtime (check REVIEWS and/or SEARCH for exact figures) while the MN02 will produce about 2.25-2.5hrs of gradually dimming light from 2x123. I agree with Hoghead that the KL3 looks good on the G2. In fact IMO the G2 is the best looking host for the KL3, and matches its color better than the aluminum bodied lights.

If you don't already own an E2X-bodied light you may eventually get one and discover its extraordinary adaptability. It can run the MN02, MN03, KL1, KL4, and with E2C adapter and standard bezel can accept P60 and P61, the upcoming KL5 plus any and all bulbs and turboheads that will fit on any standard bezel in addition to Nascar's great P61/E2E mod using the regular E2E bezel, plus CM's 5W/KL1 mod.

It reminds me of the infinitely expandable 6P except for the lack of body extenders, but even those may soon be produced by Doug Speck.
