I got a package in the mail!
Orange Mag and SF bezels. Very, very nice work! Thanks Jonathan for hte partial shipment.![]()
I think that's all been covered in pics far nicer than I'll ever take.If the memory card and camera ever reconvene maybe I'll give it a shot anyway.
I'm not sure why people complain about these services when it is almost always the same amount of time. I'm assuming people are either new or do not look at past group services that are offered that are similar to these.
On a side note, I arrived home today and saw a very large box on my front porch. I was a little giddy walking up to it thinking it was my lights. It ended up being something I ordered for my son from
Woot.com.
I'm not complaining, I was just trying to put some perspective as to why some people are getting impatient. I don't think someone is out of line getting a bit antsy after this much time. This is NOT a knock at Jonathan, lord knows I would not have taken on a task like this.I think we are all anxious to get our lights back especially after the pics we have seen of some of those that did get back to their owners, so complaining about the complainers really isn't anymore productive itself.
While I completely understand that different people have different thresholds of patience, I am totaly fine with how long this run is taking. Jonathan has proven himself as perfectionist from way before my time here at CPF. If the run takes more time to make it reach his standards, then I'm all in favor of taking the time.

Custom = 6 months minimum, this is what I've learned.
Somewhere way earlier in the thread is mention of another coating "group buy" by someone else - I believe that was at 2 years.....
With that all said - yeah I'd like to get my lights, but I also like having something out there (antici........pation.....)
Man oh man, after the new member getting reamed for asking if he could still get in on this coating...it just keeps going on and on. Calling complaining 'not complaing' doesn't change what it is.
Weren't you the one that was raising a stink a couple months ago, demanding all your lights back, then edited your post after a phone conversation that had you decide to go ahead?
If people have problems waiting, give Jonathan a call for reassurance. It will take as long as it takes. If you are without the lights you sent away, that was each of our decisions that noone forced us to make.
Great job, Jonathan! What we have seen so far is magnificent! Take as much time as you need. This was an enormous project, and I don't blame you for saying this run will be your last.
Having seen the coating quality in this run, and considering this is a small, affordable, bespoke run of colors/finishes, I'm happy to wait.
Reminds me of the ol' project triangle...

Guys, got home safely and here's the latest spills.
Dropped by the coating shop immediately after the first chance I got and was told that the "slow" stripping process was Sloww...
CRAZY slow, I was out for a month and they only finished 4/5 box that I gave them. They were doing it serially to avoid mixup. We'll C about that.
I dropped by there again last Friday, and found the 3 box of beautifully stripped polished and cleanroom wrap. One box in the tank for stripping and two augers waiting to be stripped.
Was told again that to come back this week Wednesday to pickup.
This project and my travel is running out to be WAY LONGER than what I bargain for. My wife reminded me last night ...
"Hey honey are you finished with those flashlight anodization parts yet."
You know it's bad when your wife start to notice things.
OK, so for the anondization that are finished Do you guys want me to partial ship them out? If so drop me an email. I'll try to do so. I'm still trying to catchup with from being away for so long, but I think I can manage.
No need to partial ship mine, I can wait.
Did you see the few posts about the electrical clean up? A few of us were curious if this was still happening. I asked for it to be done on my lights.
The man is back...
I don't mind waiting because I know what I will get will be well worth the wait.
Thanks for the services...

Any idea when the Ti parts will begin and finish their run?
Thanks.
I apologize. Since you erased the original message, I only could go from memory...but take a second and go through the entire thread and look at your postings overall, and you will see my point. I was not bothered "so much," as you suggested. Very little on this forum comes remotely close to bothering me, but it hard to convey true meaning in a post.
Rather, these delays are a common scenario for custom projects, and if people have issues with waiting, after a couple of "Any Updates Yet" type posts, they should direct their frustration to Jonathan via PM, E-mail, or phone.
We know the project is delayed. We don't actually know how long it will take for completion, because all of the work is not under Jonathan's control. We do know that people posting the same frustration with delays won't speed anything up which is the main point.
