heat tolerance of glow + epoxy?

I'd like to spruce up some of my creations with glow powder and epoxy, something I've never done before.

My first candidate for the glow-around-the-emitter treatment is a torch I just made that runs an SSR-50 at 5A. It produces significantly more concentrated heat than any of my MC-E creations, so I'm concerned that it might not be suited for this.

My question is, will the typical application given to LED surrounds, which as I understand it is Devcon/Loc-tite slow curing epoxy and Glow Inc's V10 powder, be OK to use with this high-heat application? Or am I better off leaving it alone? Thanks.

I'm not sure how much heat it can take but I have seen some creations that used glow powder in blown glass.

That's certainly more than the epoxy can take (epoxy spec'd at 200F).

How hot do you suppose an SSR-50 driven to 5A gets?

Not sure. Someone else with more experience with the SSR-50 will have to chime in on this.
