I'll be there![]()
Looking forward to it.
I'll bring the "case o lumens" with me:
Thrunite Catapult, Malkoff MD4 body with MD2 Head, M60 MC-E Warm dropin and lo-hi ring, Eagletac M2XC4, Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra (with 18650 body). Oh, and the ever useful DMM.

I'll be there.
Many thanks to TX101 who has been kind enough to give me a lift and save me falling asleep on the tube!
I'll be bringing my "Case O old Welsh miners torches" and other odd lights.
I could also bring some Paracord bits and bobs if any one wants a lanyard/monkeys fist/keyrings/bracelets ??? I'll tell you what, I'll try to bring a few examples of each for people to see.
Looking forward to this![]()
Nice lights Dave,
at this rate I'll be bringing my 'Case O' Influenza'!!!!!!
Hope I'm better by next Sat!
Honey and lemon all round...
Just ordered a couple of AW's IMR16340s so the Lumapower will be available in "pocket rocket" mode for people to look at and be astounded at how such a small torch puts out so much light![]()
(Assuming of course they arrive before the 27th in time for me to get them charged!)
Get well soon Nyctophilliac mate!
And here's the "case o lumens" as it is now, with all chargers, the zebralight and the lummi in their respective places. The batteries for the Lummi and Zebralight are in the clear case roughly in the centre of the photo, which will also hold the IMR16340 cells when they arrive.
If I decide to get a Malkoff MD2 Host with M61 dropin at some point, I can always move the Zebralight to under the Lummi and that'll give me room for one more torch down the middle I reckon![]()
I'll be there, just me & a few lights.
Any chance of that bed for the night please Lee?
Lee thank you for the heads up on this meet. I will bring a load of IMR 16340 cells just in case. BLUE LED
We may have to cluster round the heat of the overloaded leds! Looks like cold wet and muddy for our day , but hey, forecasters are always wrong! Not exactly shirt and shorts weather though ( Rob, take note - we've never even seen you in trousers yet!!)
I'm holding out for snow. Tobogganing by torchlight sounds good!
Refresh my memory - which batteries are affected by extreme cold? Is it Lithium, lithium ion or LSD NiMhs??? I think I'm bringing all of those.
Maybe the pub crawl could just stay at the one pub...
There is an indian restaurant around the corner...
If Parcelforce got off their arses and delivered my package that's been sitting at Heathrow since last Wednesday, I'll have a nice case like TallNHairyDaves as well. Not much chance, looking at the tracking, they haven't even admitted that they received it yet.
Aren't Peli cases a bit heavy for dragging across the Heath? I've got a few and I was wondering if they would make good toboggans.......
Not long now![]()

I believe a rucksack would be best - room for my lights and tripod and camera too - and my hat, scarf and gloves.
My biggest peli is a 1010! At 6 x 4 not your average tobaggan. but great for jaffa cakes.
Nope it's really not long now.
Peli = Waterproof. Ahhhh, see what I mean now.
I ordered up their small laptop case 1090 but you can't get it over here with the foam so I had to get it from the US. I was inspired by the pics in post 14 here.

Parcelforce tracking now says they are deciding how much to duty to rip me off.. sorry, charge me for it. Guessing they will then post me a letter asking me to pay, wait till I get the letter and pay, and then think about delivering it, it's not looking good for Saturday. Still, at least my Preon, and RRT-0 came today. Expecting some Maratacs this week as well.
Jay - they'll charge you the Vat plus a handling fee of Ł13.50 or therabouts, for all the admin and work, plus the bottle of champers.
And you know what - the people in the office you have to go to are really nice and difficult to get angry with. I know a couple of them by sight now!
My Peli's got a hefty shoulder strap on it, but I might have to reconsider and see if I've got enough padded pouches etc to transfer this lot into a rucksack instead of carrying the Peli on one shoulder and the camera bag on t'other...
Can't wait for Saturday, it's gonna be fun![]()
We can get backpack strap rigs at work for those carrying hardcases in the field http://www.outdoor-cases.co.uk/
You might find one that fits your case
Just had a look at the weather forecast for Saturday
"Heavy rain showers "
Bummer![]()
Categorically not going to let poor weather spoil the day or night. Bring out your waterproof goodies! Asphericals look better in rain anyway - extra cooling for our hot led's. Mud's good for the complexion. We all need umbrellalites.
Anyway - long term weather forecast is never that accurate. I'm holding out for 73 degrees and balmy sunny evening into a cloudless starry night.
Just not necessarily in Hampstead!
It also says the night will be cloudy but not rainy - perfect! Cloudy enough to keep the cold away and maybe someone will have something capable of hitting the clouds!

Lanyards, Belts & Braces it is then! Together with rain gear![]()

Hey hey hey! Things are looking up - advanced weather forecast says Saturday will be dry with sunny intervals, daytime high of 9 and a night time low of 3!
Fantastic! But we can all leave the sledges behind for another day.
Looks like the walk through the Heath up to Spaniards Inn for last orders is on!
Also good news, No closures on the Northern line on 27th - one of only 3 unnaffected tube lines that weekend! Las train to Central London leaves Hampstead at 00:34.
Charge those batts - we're going to need them ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Guys
Hope you all have a great get together - sorry I can't make it but I will definitely have to make it to the next one.
Looking forward to the photos and reports . . .
Cheers
Pete
Once again, fate has transpired against me and I won't be able to make it.
Sad timesThird in a row...

1 DAY TO GO!!!
Looking forward to it!
Weather forcast now says heavy showers but still not cold. Wet weather gear not Arctic Circle!
The good news is that we have a brand spanking new in box Nitecore EX10 (Classic ramp style) with Golden Dragon Emitter for raffle on the night donated with much generosity by Antony from Flashaholics.co.uk. He's gutted he can't make this event - but promises to come to the next one - life and work permitting. We'll donate all proceeds to his chosen charity after the night.
Til tomorrow then, be seeing you....
If anyone else is driving, the postcode of the Freemasons Arms is NW3 1NT
Get them cells charged
See you all tomorrow![]()
