Okay, we all know how mind numbingly confusing Fenix's numbering system is, right? Well I think I cracked at least part of it, here we go...

T1 was their first tactical style light.
TK10 was their revision to the first.
TK11 was their revision to the 10.

See a pattern? If you're a computer scientist you will have!

The next one will be the TK100! Here's why:

001, 010, 011, 100, 101, 110, 111...

001 base 2 is 1
010 base 2 is 2
011 base 2 is 3
100 base 2 is 4

I'm sure I'm wrong, but in the case that I'm right... well... :twothumbs

What about TK20, TK30 and TK40?

I think next will be TK50! :naughty:

Close but not quite.

Those that understand trinary, those that don't, and those who mistake it for binary.:p

Incidentally, while a binary digit is a bit, a trinary digit is a trit...

Do not mock carrot, guys.

He's the one who cracked Fermat's last theorem, worked out how many atoms there are in the Universe, and did quite a lot of the work Einstein took all the credit for. He also wrote the algorithm Levi's use to calculate waist size vs. inside leg measurement for their jeans.

Working out the Fenix model # system is child's play for a man of these distinguished and refined accomplishments.

You're orders of magnitude above me... I'm still trying to figure out all the series; P, L, E, TA, and TK. The H series was easy enough. Wish Fenix's web sight would give a little overview.

P is for Primary (CR123A-based)
L is for Alkaline (AA and AAA-based)
E is for Economy (their cheaper lights)
TA is for Tactical (for "high-speed operators")
TK is for Tank (for lights that are too damn heavy to EDC)
H is for Headlamp (lights you put on your head)

Pretty simple I guess, but they should probably explain it SOMEWHERE.

Also, I forgot to mention that D is for Digital, but since all of Fenix's lights are "digital multimode" that designation kind of ceases to be useful. There used to be P for Premium, S for Standard and T for Tactical... I miss the good old days of single mode LED lights...

If only the L1P single mode was reborn with a Cree emitter and insanely long runtime with the same output it used to (40 lumens?)... that'd be a fantastic light.
