The shotgun forend housings haven't been discontinued if they still form part of 6V and LED WeaponLights.
I listed them to demonstrate that there are so many classic models it is better to describe the family rather than to either list only one, or attempt to try to list them all.

So it would be better to list simply "9V Shotgun Forend WeaponLights" as discontinued.
It may be useful to give an example "(such as model 918FGA)"

+1...that's what I was trying for, in a round about way.

I dont know if you want to bother, but there are a bunch of small number produced lights for companies. for example

C2-HABK Remington Military (only seen one on cpf)

C2 Taurus (I have one as do some other members here)

    E-series porsche light

Dont forget about the porcupine series

    U2-PK
    L6-PK
there is another but i cant remember was it a L4-PK? was there ever a A2-PK?
Collecting is not about what you have but rather what you DONT have . . . yet.

There was an A2 Porcupine. No officially released L4 Porcupine.

Also, the code for the Porcupine lights is -PP (L2-PP, L6-PP).

I'm thinking the the "-PP" aka Porcupines
    L2-PP (both versions)
    A2-PP
    L6-PP
    U2-PP (both versions)

And the Camo Jungle versions of the C2 and E2e (C2-CJ, E2e-CJ)...
I think we're all agreed that if the Special Editions have specific model numbers they should go on the list.

I thought we decided in posts 53, 58-59 to limit the SE's to only the most commonly-available-through-retail items? Otherwise, we would open the door to *dozens* of variants with model names, but which are not in the spirit of the thread. 6P-GS (GunSite) is another that comes to mind right away.

Something else I noticed: To be truly consistent, 6P-USA (Classic) and 6P-USA (Hex) shouldn't be listed separately. Either that, or 6P (Classic) and 9P (Classic) should make the list. In other words, in one case you are considering the classic body style a separate model, in the other case you are not.

Most importantly, though - great idea for this thread, and great work on the updates! A very nice reference.

If it has a specific model number and it has been discontinued then that's what the Special Editions discontinued list is for.
If that applies to the "6P-GS" then so be it.

I would prefer "6P-USA (both versions - 'Classic' & 'Hex')" as well.
I don't think this list needs us to list every change in design and style of every model. Such model evolutions could be the focus of another thread though.

    Thank you

There are only so many models to find, so long term activity in this thread will be photos.

I'll add them as I am able (examples permitting), three added today, including this one:

    Nits?

    "E2L (KL1 bezel)" should be KL2, I think?

    "E1L (single-level KX1 bezel)" should be double-level, I think?
    "E2L (single-level KX2 bezel)" should also be double-level, I think?

Finally, the light shown as E2L (KL1 bezel) is actually an E2L (KX2 bezel)

But these are nits. Great work and thanks for all the time this is taking away from your excellent new website!

The KL2 was the first LED bezel for the Millennium Series M3.

The KL1 was made for both the E1e and E2e.

I was going to post some things I spotted myself such as the E1e-BK having the Z61 instead of the black HA version of the Z52... and my suspicion that the C2-HA shown is actually an early M2 (based on the low serial number and the anodising).

But getting 100% accurate photos is going to be a real challenge and it is interesting to see the photo side of things develop

Edit - see posts below. Al was (no shock) correct, as usual!

Good corrections - question on the C2. If it were in fact an early M2, should it have had a shock-isolated bezel? This one didn't and I think the package said C2, but I can check. (curious/puzzled only)

    My first M2 didn't. It was a C2 with the additional P61.
I was one of the those who helped PK field-test and refine the design of what was to become the M2's shock isolated bezel.

I just dug out the card that came in the clamshell package for that C2 and sure enough, waaaay up in the corener in reeeeally small print it says "Model M2 Mil-Spec Personal Defense Light.

So...Dan, my son has a real C2. I'll shoot that to you in the day or so.

Al, thanks, that's cool - thanks and best rgds!

Dan, I uploaded RH and LH pics of a true C2 this morning, if you want to sub them for the M2 that I thought was a C2.

Thanks Dude. I like the original photo, like tracing when two species split out of a single 'parent' species, it marks the development of both modern M2 and C2's. I've updated its description.

The original so labeled C2 then, looks just like the current C2 (body, bezel, and tailcap). But I'm wondering if the next version of the M2 included the old style shock bezel or if it was not introduced until the new/current M2 bezel arrived.

Sharp eyes, you are correct. That light has been EDC for more than a decade and has had, IIRC, three bezezls and three tailcaps. All three (six) were damaged in accidents while being used and were (tada) replaced by SureFire under warranty - so I don't have the original. I borrowed the bezel from another light. It's a miracle the body tube has survived.

Note that this is the "long" tube - there was a "short" version that I think (???) was more common.

I have no idea! If you ignore the three vs. four flats issue, and the markings, what's the difference between an M2 (at least as we commonly think of it) and a C2? Just the shock isolated bezel, no???

Here's a pic of a round body L2 if ya need it EG. I think it would be neat to have one thread to go to to see all the older SF's (even the different variants). We get enough of them, this thread could become a sticky and legendary in it's own right...
