    (A V A I L A B L E)

NOTE: Please allow 7 days to ship

Please read completely before you post or buy then pay and post.

    Absolutely NO reservation.

    Hi Folks,
These deep tail caps are CNC machined from solid aluminum bar and Mil spec hard anodized to fit on your favorite $urefire M6 to accept 2 AW's IMR 26500, 2 AW's protected "C" cells or 25530 cells.
These will add little length (about 10mm) to your flashlight and just enough to accept above batteries.
Each tail cap comes with installed black switch boot and PVC tube to center the batteries. McClicky switch and retaining ring is NOT included but optional for $14 extra.
All you need to do is remove original tail cap, remove original battery holder and install PVC tube, 2x26500/25530 cells and deep tail cap.
Please note: NO M6 body included, NO head, NO lamp, NO battery, NO charger.
McClickie switch and retaining ring is not included in price but optional for $14 extra.
    Advantages:
1- You don't have to buy expensive battery holder.
2- You will have higher capacity cells.
3- Capable of higher current draw.
4- You can have it installed McClickie switch or install your own Type B soft start
5- Keep original tail cap intact.
    6- No extension tube needed.

Picture shows M6 with installed deep tail cap in top, then included PVC tube, 2xIMR 26500 (NOT INCLUDED) and inside of deep tail cap with optional installed McClickie (buttom right)
Please study about voltage and lamps you can use with these set ups.
DO NOT USE 2 FULLY RECHARGED IMR26500 with MN21

You can NOT use original switch.
You will need either McClicky or AW's soft start at your choice.

This will give you 8.4 volt which is not suitable for WA1185
WA1274 is an excellent match but lower output.
Slightly bleeded cells can be used with 5761

Sorry, nothing is available from closed threads.
    Please click
here and find blue link of currently available items.
Item pictured in post #1 of this thread is to use with 2 IMR 26500 cells only.

Inside diameter of M6 is about 37mm while diameter of 26500 cell is about 26mm and in order to keep the cells center, PVC tube is needed.

Each tail cap with installed McClicky and PVC tube is $52 and shipping to Stats is $6 so grand total will be $58

Thanks jdriller and FM. I was hoping for longer runtimes with this set up for my 1185. I'll have to respectfully pass on this at this time. Always good to see new products from you though FM! Keep up the awesome work you do

For longer run time with WA1185 3x18650 Megalennium will work better.

FiveMega thank you for another great product. The cells recommended above vary in length a bit with some 50mm in length and some 53/54 mm in length. What is your recommendation for best fit?

Switch spring and lamp spring will compensate length difference.
Obviously protected (longer) cells will compress springs harder.
Each bulb may react and perform differently with different chemistry cells and you need pick best for your needs.

Ooooh, very nice. Would be great with an IMR-M3T (2.4A). Awesome beam, ~700 lumens, almost an hour of runtime...

Need to free up funds for this one....

Using 2 protected AW's C cells with total of 107mm fits tight with these tail caps and there is no more room for 117mm length of 6x17500 battery holder.

You will need 26mm extension to fit above battery holder.

IMR-M3T is 3.4A - so not quite an hour, maybe 40 minutes.

FM - this is a really nice product. Thinking about a purchase.

I am pretty frustrated. I received AW's softstart switch today. I installed in the deep tailcap with fully charged IMR26500 cells and it won't turn on. A few things I have done to analyze the problem:

I removed the deep tailcap. I set my Fluke meter to measure amps and placed the probes from the IMR26500 negative to the M6 body. The MN20 bulb instantly (and brillantly) came on. Clearly there is no issue with the lamp or the cells.

The only other suspect is AW's softstart switch. I removed it from the deep tailcap and installed it in a C2. There it works fine, 3 levels, flashing and I can clearly see it is softstarting.

So all the elements by themselves work fine. But when I put everything together, "this dog don't hunt".

What have I overlooked? Is there anything else to check?

    EvilLithiumMan,

I haven't received my two deep tail caps yet. I suggest to check if the spring of the switch is making contact with the battery -ve. If not, try to pull the spring ( very carefully not to break it off from the pcb ) to extend it just enough to make contact. Or if the switch spring is too stiff, you may try extending the lamp module spring instead.

The spring is not the problem. It's length is fine. As a matter of fact, if you hold the tailcap next to your ear while tightning it, you can hear the spring being compressed.

But I have identified the problem. It took a close visual inspection of the deep tailcap, but I can clearly see the issue: the contact area of the deep tailcap is too far away and does not make contact with the M6 body, even when fully seated.

Despite this situation, I now have my M6 working with the IMR26500 cells, and the solution is pretty ironic - I replaced the deep tailcap with the standard tailcap fitted with your M6 softstart switch! It works great. The only issue is that with the standard tailcap fully seated, it is about 3mm away from the lanyard ring, so there is that extra gap for the ring to flop around.

Bottom line - I have a M6 fitted with IMR26500 cells and softstart / 3 level operation. Once again I am a happy modder.
