New single AA light required - cannot make up my mind

Hi folks. I don't normally ask for recommendations, but I am stuck. I am about to gift one of my lights away to a friend, so require a replacement for my EDC rotation. I just cannot make up my mind.

I currently have 2 LD10's and a Nitecore Defender Q5. I've narrowed the choice down to 2, Jetbeam Jet I V3 IBS and Nitecore Defender R2.

The Jetbeam appeals as it is different to what I already have, but I also really like the form factor and functionality of the Nitecore. Any thoughts?

Sorry, had a D10 when they first came out. Didn't like it and gave it away.

Since you already have an NDI, I wholeheartedly recommend the Jetbeam. If you can't tolerate the rings get the OP reflector.

Thanks Gazerbeam. Your help is much appreciated. Think I will get the Jetbeam. Now to decide between the R2 or Q3, or maybe both.

IMHO, both are great choices.

The Jet-1 will be the "thrower" of the two.

But, it will be the small differences which will help you determine the winner.

Re: New single AA light required - Update

Just placed an order for the Jetbeam, with Q3 warm emitter. This will be my new outdoors light. Depending upon whether I like the interface, I will get the R2 version for EDC.
