Are 3 X CR123 the same size as 2 X 18500?

I have a Solarforce L2 with L2-ECR extension for a total of 3 X CR123a batteries. If I use 2 X 18500 instead will they fit?

I figured 34 mm X 3 = 102 mm

50 mm X 2 = 100 mm

I don't know if 2 mm matter or not?

That's basically a 9P configuration.

2mm is nothing to worry about in a light that size.
The head and/or tailcap spring will easily compress for that combination to fit.

I caught that before the edit! LOL

Thanks for your help. I thought it would fit but a dealer I spoke to said "no". I think he had 18500 confused with 18650.

Yeah, the pre-edit length for sure would not fit
