Hi folks,
This is prepayment sale for following heads and I am accepting payment from now to May 31th 2010 at 11:50PM Pacific time. Then no more payment will be accepted and regardless of quantity, production will start and take about 3~6 weeks.
There will be 2 different types for M*g "D" and $urefire M head in mil spec natural hard anodizing, Black HA or raw aluminum.
Advantage of PAR36 is that you will get lamp, reflector and front lens at one price and since they are sealed beam, you will never clean or damage reflector. Not to mention that you won't even need a bi pin socket and the beam will never go out of focus.
Average price of PAR36 sealed beam is about $10 which is way less than price of 4.5" aluminum reflector, 4.5" front lens, high wattage bulb and high temp socket.
There are variety of different voltage and different wattage PAR36 sealed beams and available at 5 degree spot (ultimate narrow), 12 degree (spot beam), 36 degree (flood beam) and ...
PAR36 head for M*g "D" will be much simpler than M head and each head will come with bezel and o'rings.
M head will come with negative and positive spring loaded connectors and easy to connect the PAR36 screw terminals.
All you will need to do is run a pair of wires from screw connectors to terminals of PAR36. Simple as that.
M*g "D" head will need a towerless switch to solder a pair of wires to Positive and Negative of switch to both terminals of PAR36
Outside diameter of bezel is about 120mm
No PAR36 bulb, NO flashlight body, No batteries or charger included.
What you will get is head, bezel and o'ring for M*g "D" and spring connectors in addition for $urefire M heads.
NO bulb, NO flashlight body, NO battery holder, NO tail cap, NO batteries and NO charger included.
5.5 volts, 6 or 6.4 volts are excellent choice for 2x26500 IMR M6 or any 2x26500 M*g "D"
12 volts are excellent choice for 4x26500 IMR M*g "D"
No reservation please. You must pay FIRST then claim your spot by posting here. I will sign your name right after receiving payment unless you paying by MO.
Please don't pay if you may change your mind. There will not be any refund.

Re: PAR36 4.5" head M6

6 Volts, 30 WattsPAR36
Pair of 6 Volts, 30 Watts PAR36
12 Volts, 50 Watts flood PAR36
More PAR36
----------------------------
Wow! These look impressive! What are the voltage and current demands for the par36 bulbs? Also, are there any beamshots?
There are variety of PAR36 bulbs with different voltage, wattage and beam spread angle.
Each one may have different beam shape, intensity and current demand from others.

How is the beam from that 4509? Trying to look for the highest wattage pencil beam ATM :twothumbs
I do have a 4509 powered by 4 IMR 26500 in 4x26500 body. It has amazingly bright and sharp narrow beam with excellent throw. Beam shape is square just like aspherical LED.
I also tested a 4515 in 2x26500 M6 and 2x26500 Megalennium. Result is excellent.

----------------------------
Correct me if I'm wrong but is it correct that these PAR36 lamps (6 & 12V versions) will draw 4-5A from the batts? Can we run the 12V lamp using the 3x18650 Megalennium serial bodies?
Not 3x18650 version but 6 volt PAR36 works fine with 2x26500 M6
---------------------------
Is there enough room for a Jimmy M regulator on top of the towerless mag switch if the Kiu aluminium section is used ontop of the trimmed down switch, but the ceramic socket is not installed ontop?
Or Maybe the Ceramic socket could be installed on the lowest setting and the wires plugged into the socket, and connected to the lamp, if the ends were crimped or single strand wire was used?
There will be more than enough room for regulation circuit weather it's with or without cermamic socket.

Does the M6 head come with the bulb?
NO BULB INCLUDED.
zoran said:
Do you have any expected runtime figures running it in 26500 configuration @ 6V with the longer M6 Cap?
Run time will varry depending on lamp wattage.
Using 6.4 volt, 30 watt bulb, run time will be about 20~25 minutes.

---------------------------
Could I run 6 x 18350 in a Megalennium 3 x 18650 for par 36 bulbs that require higher voltage?

Six IMR cells may flash the bulb but most 2000~4000 hours bulbs will work perfectly with 5 cells.

You also need to make sure don't exceed maximum current capability of cells.

---------------------------
One question I do have is about the bulb itself. I ordered a Philips 5.5v 25 watt for this and when I power it up it works ok, but I see whips of smoke inside the bulb itself. Is that normal, or even anything you've seen before? Maybe I got a dud?
Is the bulb sealed beam? If so smoke can't go out. Where is smoke going out from?

Not 3x18650 version unless you have a 4x18650 Megalennium to use 100 watt 4509

i just took apart a milwaukee 28 volt battery pack this week that had 7 -26700 imr cells in it. now if i can fit them in a 6d mag, i have a few of your extensions for a d mag. am i thinking in the right direction?

Oh yeah! You'll need about 70mm of extensions, and you'll have 25.9V of power to play with.
