I can't find the post now, but AW once posted a photo of a bunch of the cells he offers for sale, and in the photo there just happened to be an F cell (can't remember the capacity) with the typical black shrink wrap and silver label of his protected LiCo cells. Caused a bit of stir at the time. Obviously, he's never offered those for sale, but they exist.

Nope. Various 18650's, protected "C" (25530) LiCo's and IMR 26500's are the biggest he's sold to date. He's was considering protected 26650 LiCo's (4500 mAh) late last year, but I never read if he made a final decision on those.

Wow. 2x LiCo 26650's would run a Malkoff M60 for ~7.5 hours. I would love a pair of those (plus a short spacer) in my FM 3xC.

Hmm... BatterySpace has a LiFePO4 F (32900) cell, and bigger options as well. (Wonder if those 13Ah M cells will fit in one of FM's Elephant bodies, or similar?)

And, there's the alleged A123 32113 cell.

Very interesting on that prototype cell, thanks for the link.
K

Edit: I had to read through the entire remainder of that sale thread for the last scrap of info, I posted citing my interest for a pair of those, particularly if their OD could be held to 26.06 mm maximum.

BTW k5150, I'd also get a kick out of a LiCo 26990 (as long as it would be a protected AW) - one of those in a 2xC host would be a hoot.

(and I would also go for an 18990-format for my SF C3, but that one was Sgt. LED's idea. )

Thanks Gordon & all for the info;)

Reason I ask is because I have a 4D mag and want to use it to host a WA-1185. 3x32900 cells should drop right in (2x65mm ~ 3x90mm), given how generous the mag-D spring is. My current 1185 uses 9xeneloopAA, and its run time is not the greatest. So if I can get ~700L out of the 4D and longer run times than the 9AA...:hitit:

:)
