Sweet setup.

Do you have a lux reading from this?

I am wondering how well the turbohead can focus this bulb.

I have not adjusted mine much but I have a very small dark spot in the center at 10ft.

I cannot comment on the Lux reading either. I do have a Lux meter though. Maybe I can take some measurements this weekend for you. At first glance, it seems just as bright as my Mac Mini hotwire (1185) ran off three 17670 batteries. The FM 1909 has a much bigger hotspot though, ran off three AW26500 batteries. I believe the FM1909 is rated at being 1100 lumens brighter than the 1185 but to my eye it sure does not seem like it. Maybe it's because the hotspot is so much larger.

Moddoo,

Just in case you did not know, you can buy the FM M2D adapter for this body and use a Mag head. You still cannot adjust the height by twisting though.

Qtrhorse- Thanks for the response. I had the same dark spot, however, after moving the bulb inward I was able to close it. This bulb produces a nice wide beam with a hotspot much like a football :twothumbs

Exactly, the bulb does produce a football shaped hotspot. I was so excited to get mine up and running that I did not even bother to mess with adjusting it.

By the way, I forgot to add a zero when I quoted how much brighter the lumen rating is supposed to be compared to a 1185 that Luxluthor estimated it to be. At 12V it is rated at 2609 lumens.:D

Re: FS FM1909 SF KT-4/ Megalennium 3x26500 Weekend sale $310

I can't believe no one has taken this yet. It is a great hotwire combo and well below what it would cost to buy new. If my math is correct, you have a little over $400 into this combo.

If anyone is looking for a 1185/ Mag85 type light, this is the way to go and it has a much larger hotspot.

This is a heck of a deal, especially considering FM is sold out of the bi-pin adapter for the KT-4.
