I can bring a large 8x4' folding table... chances are we will need all the table space.Usually we end up with lights on the floor.. all over the place.

I am going to be a little late. My sons soccer game ends at 5.
My work took longer than planned this morning. I will have a friend(Brandon) & we will get there between 4:30-5:00 plus any possible traffic variables.
Also if anyone has an extra 14500 or two we could test my ZL's for Li-on output.

Various Neutral Tinted Goodness.
I'll bring one. I also picked up a sushi platter from Costco today so that's what I'll be bringing.
Also, just in case anyone is interested: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/sho...highlight=ld10

Thanks, Vicki, for being such a gracious host for this GTG. Great to meet everyone and get to play with flashlights. Thanks also go out to BigChelis for the enlightenment WRT to how many lumens our lights put out and ways to improve upon those numbers. Like the last GTG I attended I got some new and crazy ideas for some more flashlights I want to try and modify.

Thank you Weedle256 and SheDevil for hosting. This was the third time you've both hosted and they just keep getting better.
It was nice to see familar faces in addition to new ones. Thanks to all who kept me eating and eating. The selection of goodies made this the best meal I've had in months.
Also thanks to those who helped me test the output of my six level Coleman High Tech LED lantern.
And thank you JimH for the warning about not looking directly at the endothermic reaction. I made sure I kept my eyes on the iPhone screen while filming. Next time you may want to mention something about not standing down wind. Actually it was funny. I may mutate into a zombie overnight after being enveloped in that cloud, but it was definately funny.
Wow, I have to say this flashaholic gathering was better than expected, and I expected it to be pretty good :-). Thanks for inviting us to your home, Weedle256 and She-Devil!
I brought more and better food than last time:
Santa Maria marinated tri-tip from Dittmer's Deli (In Mountain View)
fresh pugliese bread, ripe pineapple spears, and caramel chocolate macadamia nuts (Costco)
There weren't any leftovers, so I guess I have good taste :-).
I'm enjoying everyone's photos, keep 'em coming!
I'll post photos in a few minutes, I had to turn everyone's heads back into spheres first.
*crunch crunch crunch* Man, it's cool to see a quad core CPU hit 100% for 5 minutes.
Ok, the full set of photos (including the blurry ones) are online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/3105554...7624213532430/
The hi-res versions are much more impressive than these 800x600 versions, especially if you have a large monitor. Click on a photo there and choose "all sizes" to check out the higher resolutions.
Here are some of my favorites in 800x600 resolution:
The table
The OTHER table
Kids and the Pool
Of course the pool has a light! (and big orange tadpoles)
small light (maratac?) with custom diffuser (note shadow on wall)
Getting dark
Getting as close as possible to the water without actually jumping in.
Integrating Sphere of TRVTH
Sargon, is that you in there?
E.T. must be phoning home again.

The stars are visible as little blue points of light!
That red palm tree in the distance on the right made a great target for throwers.
No, the sodium lamp light pollution was not visible to the human eye... this is a 20 second exposure, manual focus at infinity, at ISO 200. I used the deck railing and a steady hand since I left my tripod at home (d'ohh). Low ISO speed made for low grain but a very long exposure.
Here are a few more.
Headless CSI guy
Out of focus shot of the light beams probing the sky (this would have been magnificent with a tripod.) Next time....

I am home safe & sound 145 miles & 2 hours later.
Thanks for having me & thanks for the good food, & great time. What a great way to see literally a 100 different beams & flashlights & opinions about all of the above. It was fun helping BigC do the IS thing!

Various Neutral Tinted Goodness.
Thanks for a great gathering. It is always fun to meet new folks and share great food. Lots of flashlights, cameras, electronics, software, chemical and mechanical experts and ham radio operators!
Perhaps at one of these we should set up some professional photographic lighting (off in some corner) and take professional type photos of individual flashlights or small groups of them. Sort of a catalog of the neat stuff. There is so much there to see and remember.
Special thanks to SheDevil and Weedle256. Thanks for your effort and your inviting us into your nice home.
Thanks!
I was thinking along those lines as well, since those who could not attend often lament that we didn't get a picture of an interesting light for them. I have a light box with 2 illumination sources, and a small tripod. Also have a set of kenko macro adapters which work great with my 200mm telephoto for those tiny lights, and a 50mm prime lens does nicely for larger lights.
Plus we could play around with multiple flashlight illumination sources and time exposures...
lights, photography, firearms, cars, radios, computers, software, audio/video... I am beginning to think I may be high maintenance after all :-)

I started a thread on it two months ago. You and view it here. The measurements we gathered are on post #29.
Had a great time last night. This was my first time at one of these and I have to say I was so impressed with all the crazy lights. It was fun meeting you all. Looking forward to the next time. Thanks Vicki and Kevin for hosting.
oops... my mistake!!!
Thanks Kevin & Vicky for once again hosting a great CPF meet & BBQ.
Kevin and Vicky you folks rock
Great hosts, great people, and tons of lights.
Gswitter you gotta make it next time., the tables seemed lonely without your arsenal of lights. Custom lights that wow me all the time.
Surefire 6P with Malkoff M60 simple, bright, efficient.
Im so glad you all had a wonderful time. Seems like we get a few new people each time we get together. I like seeing old friends too. Wayne and Cindy it was great you stopped by.
I think we are going to have to start having a prize for the person who comes the farthest. Froggy Taco was great to meet you.
I think there were about 46 people in attendance. WWOOOHHHH !!!!!!!
Till next time my friends !!!!!!!!!!!
SheDevil
Is that a flashlight in your pocket???
Wow looks like you guys had a lot of fun and lit up the night. Dang. Its very dark out here in Iowa. Those mega lights would really show up well out here, not a lot of streetlights and lots of places where there is nothing but fireflies.
