I am currently on order for Hotbeam's Most Excellent Hotlips TK project. To simplify, it is a 5W that can have variable constant current supplied to it, from 0-3Amps. The "factory" preset is 1.5A. Heat and runtime issues aside, what can I expect for additional output vs. driving at LS specs of 700ma (with LS bin as a constant)? Has someone done some tests about increasing output and measuring the additional light produced? I remember something about this on CPF somewhere, but couldn't find it. Any new work done? This way a modder (or in my case, a mod-customer!) can properly assess output vs. runtime vs. heat vs. risk.

Phaser /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif, I think Amp vs Lux/Lumens is difficult to generalise as unless a 'universal' optics/reflector is used in a laboratory environment. Even then, light output can vary quite widely for a given optics/reflector unit depending on where on the output the meter is placed.
