Each LED can have a green tint...
I guess that many XP-G were tinted in greenish because of the chosen bin, which is mostly 1A and lies probably nearer to the greenish side.
I'm not sure which tint Tom chose to build the cool whites, but in my Triple there is really nothing greenish to be seen, it is pure cool white, I can't discern anything else!
With XP-G, the real tint lottery is a relict of the past, there is no green XP-G, unless you especially ask for one. I have a few which have a slight greenish tint, but it is in no way comparable to older generations of LEDs, which were grren or violet with a touch of white inside. If you hold 3 XP-G lights side by side, you will see that one is more on the greenish side, one more on the blueish side, but used alone, they look more or less white. White light is always a mix of colors, so pure white is an illusion I guess...![]()
