I like the fuel gauge...but what exactly does it do?

I would imagine it shows you the charge status of the battery?

From Surefire's documentation:

"we've included a fuel gauge that changes from glowing green, to yellow, and final- ly to red, letting you know when it's time to throw in a new set."

sigh...this depresses me all over again. The most wonderful flashlight that never was. I mourn it still.

Thats a little expensive, I think that its worth it though. You get what you pay for and I'm too poor to buy anything cheaper...

I wonder how many free cr123s battery junction will throw in for this light?

I believe that it comes with 91,000 free batteries. But, since it's out of stock, I would assume that it's been selling nicely, hence I expect a price increase on the next batch.

I just looked up this light and the Optimus.. I sure am glad I missed waiting for these and then having them fade off the map, that would have been excruciating.:thumbsdow

I believe that's happened before where SFs that aren't exactly for sale yet are posted with like the max price the site will allow in the slot or something. I don't know if it's a placeholder maybe, as in there must be a price there so we'll just put in a number so high everyone will get the idea it's not for sale yet. Something like that, as I remember it happening before.

Exactly, maybe the sites software doesn't register $0 as a price?

Some people may think $0.99 is a bargain causing headaches.

However, who in their right mind would thing $99,999 is the real price.

Well they are definitely out of stock as the project was canned quite some time ago, so I highly doubt that we will ever see one... unfortunately.

Well, I too would expect the President and executive staff of Surefire to present me the light.

Here is what it will be like:

There will be a formal gala dinner held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The guest list will be stunning.

My advance team would arrive ahead of me to check the room, and my publicist would take the questions.

We would have pooled press only.

Once is everything is set, my personal motorcade of several black SUV's and an ambulance will arrive at loading dock and I will be whisked thru kitchen to my place on the dais. I will skip the red carpet line.

There would be a formal presentation on stage, I would then accept the light, and a give brief speech. Then, my publicist will escort me back stage to the photo room, then the press room for questions.

I would be then taken by my security detail back to my motorcade, over to the LAX remote site for my flight back to the Palm Springs area, on my private surplus US Army UH-1 Huey.

On my arrival at Bermuda Dunes Airport, I will have my local motorcade deliver me to my plush, hi-tech, well lit, ultra spacious, heavily decorated office/studio. My usual guards will stand post at the front door, to keep people away.

I will secure the light in my safe, go home, and mix some drinks.

I will make a note to call my team of accountants in the morning to make sure we can pay Surefire for the light, and give Surefire the bill for the gala, my Helo. fuel, and security expenses. That will come to about $105,000.00 We will invoice them for $5001.00, and keep the light.

Everyone on CPF will be welcome to attend. Details will be announced at a later date.
