Hi All,

Thanks for all the great information you all have posted on the CPF!!

I first got into high powered flashlights a few years ago when I found a Surefire E2D on a back country trail during a boy scout trip. I quickly fell in love with the way it lit-up the night. Thanks to the many great reviews on this board, I have since picked up a few Fenix, 4Seven's and NiteCore's to carry camping and as back-up at my occasional part time job doing event security at pro sports games and concerts.

As I read your posts, I realize my understanding of a simple (cell holder, switch, lamp) incandescent flashlight circuit is incomplete with today's LEDs, circuit boards, and modifications... Can anyone point me in the direction or explain in simple terms about mAh's, resistor's (in tail caps), why some batteries will work in some light circuits and not in others, etc... ? I'm sure the concepts are reasonably simple, but I can't seem to get a grip on it, yet.

Thanks for your time!
