    Yes, the regs got to me in quick fashion. The boards look great. I will be finishing my LK build here shortly and will post it in the homemade mods forum. It's a bit different than other LK's because it has two 40mm fans to cool the bulb and OLED voltage displays.

    Batch 2 of the D1 regulators is now available HERE.
    This will be the last batch for a long time, if ever. So get 'em while they're hot.

    Hi Jimmy, I forget if these have enough thruput capacity to light off the 1000 Watt bulbs which when driven at 30V are probably pulling more like 1100 to 1150 Watts. So a max of maybe 38-40 amps continuous?

    Hi Jimmy

    Can't find the thread/posts where we discussed my settings for the first one ???

    Low Batt is a bit high on my current one as the A123 cells sag under 35A load and trigger the low power before they heat up and get going properly

    Have you got my last set-up saved somewhere ?
    I'm sure I posted it somewhere with a pic of the A123 cell data while we discussed it ????

    The next 2 will probably be something like . . .
    2 Levels - MED (? 25V) and FULL (29.5V)
    other defaults OK but give me a few days to think about it - Have to get out my old AVR programmer and work out how to use it again !!!!

    Cheers

    What are the Serial numbers on your units. I have the config files saved for each one. I believe I sent them to you as well. Wait. it looks like you had SN004. Is that correct?

    Hi Jimmy

    Sounds like the right number !

    Cheers for the Config File for 004 updated for rev.2

    Can you load ones as per 004 but with just 2 levels (lose the LOW) and Low Batt warn at 20V

    Have you got any circuits or parts specs for the warning LEDs ?
    Bias resistors needed ? PWM ???? etc. . . . . . .

    Cheers

    I can do that with the Specs.

    re: LEDs
    Depends on the color of the LED, red=1.7-1.8V, Yellow/green = 2.1-2.3V, etc. Blue LEDs are usually in the 3.4V range.
    Typical 5mm LED current is 10-20mA. 15mA is usually enough to make them nice and bright. Resistor values can only be selected once you know the Vf and If of the LED.
    Additionally, what would you like to do with the LEDs? The Aux PWM outputs can make them do different things (pulse, flash, fade, etc) under different conditions.

    Hi Jim

    Thanks Jim

    From Low Batt (and Overtemp) - /Shutdown Output & Flash PWMA Output)(PWM Duty % when on)

    Trying to see how to implement this option with a LED - Need more info ???? What V do they output at ? Have you a standard setup PWM wise or have I missed or mis-interpreted something ???

    The output is in the range of 11.4 to 11.8V (The primary regulator puts out 12V, but it goes through a Schottky diode which drops 0.2-0.6V. I wouldn't bother with a "12V" LED. it just has an internal resistor. You have more flexibility with bare LEDs and discrete resistors. Of which, I have TONS. The Aux PWM outputs can handle 12V no problem (I think they're 30V, 5A FETs). The FETs simply switch the "ground leg" of what ever they're controlling.
    I'll put together an example wiring diagram.
    Until then the below LEDs/Resistors can be used. I've listed common resistor values, not the exact values derived from calculation.

    Red LED Vf=2.0, If=20mA --> 470 Ohm, 1/4W
    Red LED Vf=2.0, If=~15mA --> 680 Ohm, 1/4W
    Blue LED Vf=3.6, If=~20mA --> 390 Ohm, 1/4W
    Blue LED Vf=3.6, If=~15mA --> 510 Ohm, 1/4W

    The calculation is as follows...
    R=Required resistor value in Ohms
    Vin=11.4
    Vf= Forward voltage of LED
    If=Desired current though LED in Amps (0.02A = 20mA)

    R=(Vin-Vf)/If

    Required minimum power rating of resistor is

    P(watts) = If * If * R

    I have created 2 wiring diagrams for using the PWM connections. They can be found on my support site HERE

    Yay

    Thanks Jimmy.

    15mA will probably suit best.

    Were the PWM connection diagrams on your site before ? I probably missed them . . .
    Also was there a link for the Rev.2 FW ??? I can only see 1a and 1b now ???

    As always brilliant service,

    It WAS there, but due to an earlier update, it got reverted. It's been fixed. Rev 2a is there now.

    Do you have 680 or 510 Ohm resistors on hand?

    Back up again.

    None on hand . . .

    Maplin should have them if they don't miraculously appear in any parcels !

    You see what I was getting at.
    I only have 470, 560, and 680s. No 510s.
    I'll send (2x)680s for ~14mA on the Reds and (2x)560s for ~13.5mA on the Blues.
    If you use the 560s for the Reds, you will get ~16.5mA
    In reality, you'll not see much increased brightness between 15mA and 20mA.
    Of course, if you want them as bright as possible, buy some 390s for the Blue, and 470s for the Red.

    I should be able to get to your regulators this evening at some point, I hope.

    Cool - Thanks Jimmy, sounds like a plan.

    No mad rush - I will probably take some time to think about hosts etc. but I thought I had better grab a couple while they were still available.

    Regulators are programmed as before with the addition of the PWMA output for Low Voltage and PWMB flashing output for Overtemp.
    I'll email you the options files. Monday is a holiday here, so they won't ship until Tuesday.
