Does anyone make a tape switch that will fit the G2 and/or is it possible to hack surefires tape switch into the G2? Trying to make a poor mans tac-light for my mossberg 500. Thanks for any info fellow CPF'ers.
"In my other hobby, airsoft, the G2 is a very popular choice in building "weaponlight" modifications to our replica pistols and rifles. One item that's been a favorite add-on to the SureFire lights is the G&P tailcap, which includes a 6" remote pressure tape switch. "
they got a bunch of G&P stuff. G&P is basically some cheap taiwanese Surefire knockoffs that many airsofters use, I don't know about their quality, but I will say don't depend your life on it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif
Which as you will see, Size15s made a guess as to why my KL3 refused to work on two of my three G2s.... It could be that this very same issue is at work.
Strangely enough, with all three of my G2s, this particular G&P pigtail worked just fine.
Go figure. =P
Regardless, I would take 6pOriginal's advice to-heart. While fine for everyday use and for airsoft/paintball skirmish gaming, I definitely wouldn't trust it for my life on this accessory in a home-defense or any type of police/military application (on firearms, etc.).
Thanks for the info guys.I'll guess i'll try the cheaper G&P first, go plinkin and see how it holds up.I've read some stuff (can't recall where) about using regular surefires as weapons lights and they hold up fairly well !?
I'll give it a try & post results. Thanks
