Remote Controlled Pan & Tilt

Living in the country got me to thinking that a fixed mount fixture high on the roof or pole could help light up night critters on the surrounding acres, pond, etc. [10 to 56 acres].

Being somewhat of a tight-wad, I ran across the 'Roto-Light' that looks like a less expensive starting point, at around one 'C' note. I know there are other weather resistant motorized pan and tilt fixtures, such as 'GoLight' but these are from 5 times the price and more.

Anyone have experience with this one? :

Obviously, I would probably have to upgrade [or replace] the light head to create more of a 'throw master' spotlight. Perhaps an HID.

I'm interested in any other options, out there that don't cost an arm and leg, 'camera mounts' etc.

A long range remote control would be important, as well as, a fixture that could be mounted on top of a pole [for example, I have an old satellite dish mount pole sticking up from the roof top currently.]

Roto-Light appears to want to be mounted under an eve, which is not ideal.

I'm open the light head suggestions for a good throw spot, as well.
