... leak so freaking much?
I've had 6 flashlights ruined due to alkalines leaking. None of them were expensive models, but it concerns me nonetheless.
The only time I've experienced lithium 123 batteries leak is when they were outside the flashlight, and it damaged the wood cabinet that they were kept in. I don't tempt fate though, and have removed all 123 batteries in my lights that I am not using.
I use good battery brands in both cases, and yet I invariably see more leaks in alkalines.
