Hello CPF,
I purchased an Olight M30 in April 2010, and its been great until the past 2-3 weeks. Since then, it appears that only half of the quad die MCE is producing light, with 1/2 of it dead. Ive been running it in the short version, with (2) AW protected 18500s. Im used to the + marking on the wall at close range, but now only one-half of the + is lit, and the beam looks like a half-moon. Ive cleaned the contacts, made sure the batteries were fully charged, etc., and still--I can only get two of the four die to light. While I dont remember doing it, there is a ding on the bezel from an apparent drop.
Has anyone else had a problem similar to this? I'm disappointed because I really like this light, it is great for camping. And even with 1/2 of the output, it's still pretty bright, but I would like all four of the die to light, rather than just two of the four.
