If you need to sell a couple. PCC, myself, and most likely Craig and Kramer5150 would want some too.

These lens are freaking awesome. Here is what I got in my tests:
Mag builds AR Coated lens via XRE-E EZ100= 45~55% loss in OTF lumens vs. SMO Reflector
Ahorton Aspheric XR-E EZ100 = 27% loss in OTF vs. SMO Reflector
Ahorton Aspheric XR-E EZ900 = 22% loss in OTF vs. SMO Reflector

The focal lengh is crazy short and makes youre lumen output really hight while providing alot of throw...more then any DX Aspheric I have tried.

Do you make any lens kits for D mag lights? I think it's 52mm. I'd love a lens kit for my modded X-ML 2d mag!!!

Sorry, no 52mm lenses at this time. I did start to work on one and had an interest thread going, but not enough people got on board (possibly due to the big crash earlier this year). It costs me a few thousand dollars every time I make a new lens so I'd want to be sure that I'd sell a few hundred.

As for the AR coating, I couldn't find a cost-effective way of doing it. Saabluster pestered me for a while (he only ever wants the best of course) so I did the research earlier this year.

Small batches was going to add about $50-80 per lens. In bigger batches it is cheaper but I'd be looking at $20,000-$40,000 up-front cost. If I were a big business selling thousands then this would be ok, but that's getting a bit past hobby-money for me! Remember that it's going to give less than 5% improvement in intensity, which is less than 2.5% extra throw distance.

Would you know if a basic Dereelight XR-E module from a few years ago is likely to have the correct pill (M20x1.0mm) to use the aspheric kit in a SF 6P? I'm assuming that's a pretty standard pill threading/size, but just looking to make sure if at all possible.

Would love to get a few people in on a small, U.S. group buy to bring the cost down. If anyone's interested, please PM!

Hi Bimmer,I have my aspheric kit running on a Dereelight pill and the fit is fine. I do have a M2 head on my 6P. The standard Z44 bezel would only fit with the lens removed I would think.

I don't have the Dereelight pill myself so I'll have to trust Nova's experience. It's not too hard to measure anyway. Check that the crest-to-crest distance is exactly 1mm (test 5 threads are 5mm apart). And put a caliper around the thread to measure the overall diameter (it should be 20mm or just a hair under).

If you get a wildly different measurement then you know it's off. Otherwise you have a good chance of having M20x1.0mm.

interested in making a thrower with yours lens kit but i need some expert advice (just look on the left below my avatar on my num. of posts ).

Do you still have a kit for that size of body for sell and is it hard to assemble such a lamp by myself? I will need a short tutorial i guess.
I would like to set/focus the lens that way to have a 10% wider beam to get similar result like that one in the photo in your post in that mentioned thread above. I want to get a little biger spot at the expense of the throw distance.

Am i going in the right direction with L2p body and that bulb to mach with your aspheric lens kit? Please just correct me if i'm saying something wrong. I just want to collect everything properly needed for assembling such a lamp and get the desired result

The link you posted doesn't seem to work. I don't own an L2p myself so I can't make any promises, but it should work since it's a P60 dropin. You'll need a dropin with an M20x1.0mm thread to use the spacer kit. Almost all of the ones bought from Nailbender or DX will fit this requirement. I also suggest using an XR-E R2 at around 1A for best results.

Ive got mine working GREAT in an L2P!!

the lens goes under the bezel with the Oring jammed in there too

u dont need the ring spacer - just the black reflector shaped one.

I got mine focused in 2-3 tries - pretty easy!

throws AWESOME with my XR-E module.

For now i know for sure only that i will buy a L2P body from solarforce and spacer and lens from ahorton.
But i am not sure will the reverse clickie switch from solarforce be adequate?
And i can't find that module XR-E R2 on solarforce site. Is that modulle containing everything - bulb, driver and reflector? Where i can find it?
And that Oring to protect the lenses and that black reflector..

Any XR-E reflector module (not optic) should work. I prefer forward clicky but the reverse on the L2P is fine. I've gotten used to mine.


I'd just order a module from Nailbender and tell him not to glue the pill to the reflector.

Once it arrives take the pill out of the reflector. Screw it halfway into the black reflector shaped spacer from Ahorton.

Take the head off of the L2P.
Put the pill+reflector combo into the
body. Put head back on.

Use a rag and some force to take the front bezel on the L2p head off.
Take out the lens and oring. Put in the aspheric. Put in oring. Screw on bezel.

Turn on light and aim at a wall 30-50 ft away. Take note of the beam. Remove the head and try screwing the pill in a bit. Shine on wall again and see if the image of the emitter is more focused. If not try unscrewing the pill a bit. There will be a faint corona even when the beam is focused.


Once u get it focused put a couple of drops of super glue on the pill so it doesn't unfocus itself.

Go annoy yer neighbors 3 blocks away by shining in their windows.

Yer done and stoked.
