I finally got all the parts needed to build something with this lens and now I have a question. I'm using an XR-E EZ900 drop-in from Vinh Nyugen and a Solar Force L2T stainless steel host.

The problem is that in order to get it to focus properly it seems that I need to screw the pill all the way in to the spacer. When I do that though the battery no longer makes contact. I can get it to work properly if I put the lens directly on top of the pill and then screw the head on (rather than putting the lens behind the bezel) but this isn't ideal. Am I doing something wrong? Suggestions?

Do you have a picture?

It seems that your pill is quite deep and so the spacer has too much thread for your pill. You can probably trim it down. Or maybe you can raise the LED in the pill (probably difficult).

This looks interesting. I'd love to know how hard it is to mod.

The back face of the lens pick up light that falls within a 19.25mm diameter circle. This is based on my calculations I haven't actually tested it.

Yes, it's a pretty and very well build host.

Replacing the lens is easy, almost without tools and can be reversed if wanted.
Resistors two in switch and two in heatsink can be changed, I've made mine direct drive.
The heatsinking is a bit underdimensioned now, but I still have a low mode for throttling back.

Edit: Thats a narrow aperture then, but that probably fits the short back focal length.
The travel in the Ledlenser is 7mm, maybe more when modded.

Could someone confirm troute is still the uk distrubuter for the P60 lens and spacers, I tried emailing him 3 months ago and messaged on his linked site a couple of days ago but get no response. Alternatively has anyone got a UK group buy going on?

He's usually very good about responding, but I happen to know that he is going to be away for at least the next few weeks.

If you don't want to wait for him to get back, then feel free to organise a UK group buy.
