Long burn time for mechanic

Had a loooong look at this section but am no nearer choosing. Brother in law is a trainee mechanic and works in a badly lit garage. Owner is a tight wad and won't upgrade the lighting nor jetwash the skylights so I thought i'd get my brother a headlamp. Obviously it needs a long run time but I would want it to run on either AA or AAA rechargeables and be as light as possible or at least well balanced. Flood would prob be better. 100 to 150 lumens enough? Any recommendations appreciated.

Oh, and as cheap as possible in case he drops it or smashes it against the cars he's working on.
