So you may know that I fancy flood headlamps for arm's length work. Seems to me there's an important, but often overlooked statistic that's very important to headlamp efficacy.

Not talking lumens. Not talking tint. Not talking UI or size or cell or runtime.

Talking angle of beam.

When I switched from H50s with 120 degree angle, to H501s with 80 degree angle, I noticed a difference. Found myself turning my head more than before. Not bad, but noticeable.

I've been contemplating the purchase of a Saint. But just discovered its beam is just 56 degrees...wonder if I'll like it.

Worst headlamp I own is a modified (frosted) Energizer 6 with a sweet spot of about 40 degrees flood. That's like working in a tunnel.

Was surprised to see the FoxFire is actually very narrow flood at only 38 degrees.
