Hey everyone,

I am interested in doing my first flashlight mod and I would like to use the new XM-L. Ideally, I would like to use a 1x123 or 2x123 host. I need this mod to be relatively easy because I dont have many good tools to work with. I was hoping someone could recommend a host or point me in the right direction.

I have a soldering iron and I can do some basic soldering. I'd be willing to get a dremel as well because I have always wanted one. I'd like to stay away from getting any custom parts made (i.e. a heatsink) so a light with good stock heatsinking is a must. And a budget isnt really an issue.

I saw a thread here where another user put an XM-L into a Nova Tac light and it looks pretty bright. I would try something along the lines of that if there was a significant difference in brightnedd from the stock emitter.

My goal is to have a small, pocketable light that puts out 400+ lumens. I think this is a realistic goal.

Any advice is helpful!

Thanks,

Andrew
