I'm looking for a Mac's Customs Tri-EDC in either aluminum or titanium. The only must is that it is bored to accept an 18350. Emitter type and clip are not important.

    Thanks CGPS.

If you get a chance I would love to see an updated shot of all of your EDC lights. I know your last photo got lost in the crash and I also think you may have added one since. I know you have a lot of Ti goodness!

    Thanks Rich.

My collection has a lot of different varieties, but wait until you see all of the Ti in the collection of CGPS.

    Good one Mac.

I have also sold 7 EDC lights in the last year! I couldn't keep them all.

This is the first I've heard of a Mac EDC-XML. Sweet!

How does it compare to the SST-50 and Tri-XPG?

Thanks for the comments boys. I'm definitely showing off.

Obviously the XM-L is a lot closer to the SST-50 EDC (single emitter with more throw) than the very large hotspot and flood of the Tri-EDC. I still need to make the time to take them outside some night to see if the XM-L has a little more throw than the SST-50 because of the smaller die. I suspect the answer will be yes.

I carry one of the Ti SST-50 EDC lights in a holster at work and I carry the clipless Black Tri-EDC in my shorts pocket when I get home from work.

Nice. I got the same light about a month ago, and its patina is developing nicely -- it almost looks like your pen already!

How do you folks like your copper? Do you let it age, or lacquer it, or polish it up periodically?

I'm planning on letting the patina develop for now. But the copper care instructions that were provided with my pen suggested a mild abrasive like toothpaste to clean the copper to it's original shine. It also said that the clean surfaces allow copper to maintain it's excellent antibacterial properties.

What accounts for the differences in the silver/Grey finish above? I cannot wait to get mine... And share pics.

I have a Copper E2C Adaptor made by TnC. Originally I treated it with saltwater every day for a week and let it sit outside in humid summer weather while I was at work, then used soapy water to clean off the green corrosion every evening before repeating the treatment. It developed a nice dark finish, but the spaces between the heatsink fins were reacting somewhat differently, probably because TnC couldn't reach into them to polish the raw-machined metal before delivery. That wouldn't be an issue on the smooth design of Mac's EDC lights though.

Ultimately I opted to use chemical brass blackener to turn it black, and then scuffed off some of the black coating with a Scotch-Brite pad, because I wanted a finish that would be more consistent and require less maintenance over the course of years. It looks like this:

However, since this is a photo thread for Mac's lights, here are my photos of the SST-50 I used to have. Someone else is enjoying it now.

I am curious, how is that working out for you? Has the finish and the look of the copper heat sink remained stable? It looks pretty nice in the pictures, it would be interesting to see that treatment to one of Mac's Copper EDC lights.
