It's been almost 4 years and time to replace my P3D Rebel 100. I'm looking for something similar. The PD30 would probably suffice. I'm not sure about the ThruNite Neutron 2C because of the questionable review, though it otherwise would be a contender. I probably should have gotten a PD31, but missed the boat on that one.

Looking for:
2xCR123A (I'll be using primaries)
Less than 6" long
at least 3 modes
relatively skinny (thinner than, say, a 6P)
hopefully not much more than $100
over 200 lumens would be nice

What else is out there that I should be looking at?

Is there something about the Quark 123^2 that's putting you off? Seems like a pretty logical upgrade for a P3D owner. Fairly slim and trim, 200 ANSI lumens, 5 output levels, $69...

BTW, I still have my P3D RB100 and I just like it too much to get rid of it. :)

Sounds like either a Quark 123x2 or a Fenix PD30 would be perfect. Since you are using primaries the PD31 wouldn't gain you much over the PD30 so I wouldn't worry too much about it.(I have the PD31 though and it is a great light......but I DON'T use primaries.)

PD30 R5 edition: 10 lumen low, 257 lumen max, slightly cheaper in price.

PD31: 2 lumen low, 304 lumen max, 18650 capable.

I've never owned a Quark. From all I read, they're similar to Fenix as far as features and quality. Is there anything that would make the 123^2 would be a better choice than the PD30?

I actually wasn't aware of this light, but the first review I've read so far looks good.
Off to read another 24 reviews of it...
Thanks
