Hi all,

I picked up this nice host recently and decided to get to work on it:D.

Specs are

Type III hard anodized 3 D cell Maglite
Bororfloat lens
Aluminum heat sink
U- Bin XM-L emitter
3 mode driver
Ultra deep Maglite Rebel reflector

The deep reflector gives a nice beam. On full focus it gives a very tight hot spot with super throw. On wide the beam is still nice and the hot spot is able to get very large.

Price is 149$ shipped!SOLD

PP is vesture_of_blood(@)hotmail.com

Free bump! What tint is the led? Could I ask where you got a hold of the U2 bin?

What is the voltage/battery requirement?

How much current is the emitter seeing on high?

:thanks:

Hi Alex,

The emitter is from cutter electronics. http://www.cutter.com.au/products.php?cat=Leds+on+14mm+MCPCB

Hi Don,

I got the payment. The voltage for the driver is 3.6-6V. The driver is most efficient at 3.6V so 3 nimh cells would be ideal.

The max current on high is 2.8A.

I'll have it in the mail by Tuesday.

Thanks

I definitely think that would be hard on the driver. Using 4 cells with this circuit is not uncommon but 5 is probly too much. Is there a particular voltage you would like to use? If you need to use your 5 cells or some other config I could swap the board.

Re: FS HA-III Maglite with U bin XM-L!

Thanks for the offer, but 3x D NiMH are fine. In fact, I have a trio of Accu's sitting here ready for service. If they're the most efficient combination, I can certainly use the long runtime. I guess my favorite setup would be some combination of LiFePO4 cells. I could run 2x 26650s in a 3D with a spacer, but that would be too much voltage, too. The benefit to me of the LiFePO4 cells is the charge time. I can charge 2 A123 Systems 26650s in about 15 minutes.

Can I email you at your PP address, to discuss possible builds? I have a lot of custom mag hosts which need to be built out...or shoot me an email, and we can go from there.

Yeah sure, email is better for me too. If the driver is fine in this one I'll just plan to get it sent on Tuesday then.

Light arrived today, and it's a dandy. I popped in 3x 10Ah cells and fired it up. Beautiful!

:goodjob:

:thanks:
