Both are direct drive. I note above that the drop-in has been mated with an FM 26mm host. There are few options for these except for the IMR 26650. Has anyone run the 5.6A DD in this host with an IMR?

I think I gotta have one! What is the max lumen output of the 5.6a? What Surefire hosts will this fit without mods?

Hi mustang90,

I'm sorry.
Because there is not a measure of lumen, I do not understand it.

Re: Quad XP-G 5.6A 3-mode P60 module 7th Run

I'm sure I've seen a thread where one of these was measured at just over 1400 OTF at start-up droping down to 1200+. Either way they are shockingly bright! Was out tonight visiting family and we had popped up the road to order some takeaway Chinese. Was waiting a while in the carpark and got board, so I whipped out the 5.6A Quad from Kenji here (powered with a 18650 IMR) to see how it would light up some trees across the 4 lane road we were parked near. Some people nearby also waiting stopped talking and came over rather shocked at what I had just done- wanted to see "that thing". Was kind of embarassing but it reminds me that people don't get to see lights like these- they don't know they exist. So get one- you will not regret it!!!

Re: Quad XP-G 5.6A 3-mode P60 module 7th Run

I know you can make regulated, though I thought this run was 10 only direct drive only per your first post. Sorry I'm sure the confusion is on my end. ty

The 6th run will be limited to 4.2mA 3-mode 5.6A 3-mode Direct Drive XP-G R4NW & R5CW & 90CRI

The sale number is 10 in all.

Re: Quad XP-G 5.6A 3-mode P60 module 7th Run

Stoked, mine is on its way... Still a question about batteries though, for Kenji or anyone willing to help... I plan to run this regulated 5.6a quad on a single 18650 battery. I have a bunch of AW, Redilast etc hi capacity protected ones... Would I get more power with 18650 IMR's, and would I also suffer shorter runtimes with IMRs? Thanks,

Re: Quad XP-G 5.6A 3-mode P60 module 7th Run

Being regulated your best sticking with the protected battery, as you'll get little extra out of the LEDs with the IMR. You'll find the IMR may give a slight higher brightness for the first 30 secs or so but will then drop down to the equivilant of a protected battery, however it's run time will be much less with the IMR being only 1600 mAh as against the protected batteries with higher value.

Thanks, very much appreciate the info and education.. And as I'm beginning to understand if they were direct drive the IMRs would be much brighter?
