Hi folks,
Who'd be interested in a camping trip and bonfire night up here in the North East?
I'm thinking the last weekend of July. Make it properly cold, and it's a new moon.

Interesting... :-)
Semper Paratus
Sleeping in tents or cabin? Where abouts in the North-East?

Tents. Possibly on a mates auntie's farm between Wangaratta and myrtleford. If there's enough interest, I'll make the phone call.
Do they have power for my hair dryer?
Norm
Norm, it could be arrangedI have an inverter and a stash of 150AH SLA batteries. They only weigh 45Kg each.
Tents in July, just for 1 nite? Think a mattress in the back of my Hiace sounds more inviting!

If you want to wear a skirt and sleep in your car, that's your choice![]()
You wish Nancy... you shouldn't be asking others to play out such fantasies due to a lack of it at home![]()

I'll have you know that I've got plenty of guys willing to wear skirts for me at home!
Im interested! but I will swag in the back of my ute.![]()
I've teed up a campsite, on a friends property. They've promised to keep all of the scrap wood for me for the bonfire
Check it out here on Google Maps
Can I get some hands up for numbers? I'm happy to supply some snags and beer - but I need to know how much![]()
I wish you well and hope you have as much of a great time as we did last weekend on our CPF camping trip. Of course we are close to summer and so it's probably a lot warmer here, but with that comes mosquitoes and such. We did get to see fox and turkey, and had two good night hikes. It was great seeing all the 'toys' and all the things people make and mod.
Will it be below freezing at night at this time of year?
One question: you say "up here in the north east", but when I look at the Google map link you gave it looks like the south-east part of the country. Or is that just because I'm upside down compared to you ozzies?
I guess he means NE from his staring point? But yeah, seems like SE as a whole? But hey, their toilets flush weird, so who knows. XD
I'm actually in the north east of Victoria... But yes, the south east of Australia. It will likely be -1 to -3 celcius overnight at that time of year.
Simon count me out.
Too flamin' cold for me this time of year, we are in the caravan in the Blue Mountains and it is only bearable because we have mains power.
Norm
That's the one! Let's hope for a few more. I've got firewood from 2 farms coming for one hell of a bonfire.
Wife's bun is due out of the oven any day now, think I'll have to unpack my dress and stay at home now.

My home-made spit is ready for action. I'm just going to need some folks to eat it's magical productions.
BUMMER!!!! Tassie is just sooooooooooooooo far away.............................................. ...![]()
Just to try and tempt a few of the big guns out
I went out to the property today to take a happy snap. Here's the shooting range!
And a distance measurement:
I want to see an SR90 and some HID's light up that tree line!
PLUS! There's a farmhouse at the site. If anyone's too soft to sleep in their tent/swag/ute/minivan I'm sure I can arrange for access to the house. No one's lived there for a year, but the heater will still work.

With the amount of snow falling at the ski resorts these few days, did any fall at the campsite?
The farmhouse sounds inviting, I gotta look for my sleeping bag.

The campsite would only get snowed on in world-ending circumstances. The view to Mt Buffalo, where there's lots of snow, is magnificent!
So I guess this would be on 21st October 2011 then??
