Thread: Does anyone bore 18mm E1e bodies?

Default Does anyone bore 18mm E1e bodies?

I just recently got some AW 18350 cells, and I'm planning on getting FM's E1 clicky body, but having an 18mm-bored E1x body would allow me to use an McE2s tailcap/switch that I've got. I realize that the body would be thin, but has anyone had this done/know someone who is willing to do it? Thank you.

There is not enough material in the valley of the threads to bore to 18 mm.

At one time TB made split bodies for E-series lights and Aleph lights that would allow using 18mm cells because the body was two pieces and you could unthread the two pieces and install the cell that way. They show up sometimes in BST but they were only made in 18650 and 18500 sizes.
