I am a noob at have only done basic electronic at school some years ago.
Anyhow what I am trying to achieve is to run a number of q5 leds from a battery pack we use while camping. The battery is one ment to jump start cars with flat batteries. It has two 12v cigerette lighter sockets that I would like to use to power this project. I am a Scout leader and so have a big round tent 6m in diamenter to light so want to rig up some sort of system.
I know there are a lot of threads about q5's and a few (when googled) on 12v systems but they tend to be stepped down from the mains and I'm not too sure how to adapt for the power pack. I would guess I might need between 3 and 6 leds to light the tent.
Any suggestions for the components I should/could use would be most welcome. I live in the UK so anyone who knows of bits I can source here would be ideal.
