Hello Everyone,

I need to make some more E2C adapters and was asked if I could make one out of Brass and Copper.

Before I just make one or two out of Brass and Copper I figured I would find out if there are any others that would like a Brass or Copper E2C.

BRASS PRICE: 35.00 (Min of 5 pcs need to be produced)

COPPER PRICE: 45.00 (Min of 5 pcs need to be produced)

If everyone on the list for a Copper E2C can pre-order/pre-pay I will purchase the material to make these reality. I have created a page on my store to just that.

To Pre-order / Pay please click here!

Ok. I have been asked about making these out of copper as well. So I have added the copper to the same thread.

Please post if you are intersted.

The copper adaptor would be perfect for a few of my high output / heat generating drop-ins. Is there any way to come up with a rough estimate of the cost? I am definitely in for one, but I might get more, and have them Cerakoted to match my hosts.

I have posted prices on the first post. It all depends how many get produced!

These will be the Finned E2C (E-C) Adapters.

Hmm. Intriguing. I could probably find a use for a brass one. Count me in.

Are there any brass alloys that are particularly resistant to corrosion? Some darkening of the finish is fine, but it would be nice if it wouldn't turn green. Maybe manganese brass, like what's used for the Sacajawea dollar coin?

You actually had my name in the wrong list at first, and I was going to ask you to change it, but then I thought about it and decided to give both a try. :D

Is the machining significantly different for the brass and copper versions, or is it similar enough that the total number of 6 units is sufficient to start production? I'm not trying to rush you, just trying to gauge how much longer the wait might be.

fyrstormer, I should have them done by 7-28. I didn't want to order the material until I had at least 5 people of each on the list. Machining the brass and copper is pretty similar but the material cost is why I wanted at least 5 confirmed on each. I am going to run these when I run my new batch of anodized E2C's.

Okay, just curious. I don't have an application for them yet anyway, but...well, you know.

I think you have the best E2C design, by the way. Maybe not the easiest to unscrew, but not hard as long as the threads are lubricated, and there's no unnecessary material on the outside.

Did you start your 7/28 batch yet? I was wondering if I could get a raw (unanodized) aluminum E2C along with my copper. My intent is to get it hard-chromed for use on a stainless body.

or alternatively, copper would take chrome quite well :)
