BRASS / COPPER E to C (E2C) adapter *** SHIPPING ***

Hi all.

Big thanks to Chris for taking on this project ! Got my adapter today. Nice hefty piece of brass, Running XM-L's in this small form can cause heat issues. The adapter has defiantly made a difference in thermal absorption ! And looks cool to boot.

Here is a image installed on Vital Gear 1 cell body's , brass with a Cryos Bezel the black finned on a Solarforce A001 . I have a brass bezel ring on the way for the light with the brass E-C.

Oops. Thanks I fixed my typo. Thanks on the "look" Will take another image when I get the brass bezel ring in. totally thrilled with the fit and finish on these.

My brass E2C arrived today. I'd post a picture, but the reader for my camera's memory card is being a pain.

What kind of brass alloy did you use? I just boiled it in salty vinegar for an hour to get an even patina started, and it doesn't show a trace of darkening anywhere.

I usually try to keep my brass from darkening. It is 1/2 hard alloy 360 brass.

Brass that doesn't tarnish would be great, but as far as I know I've never seen one that doesn't tarnish, so if it's going to tarnish I'd rather it tarnish uniformly. Hence the boiling-acid treatment to etch the surface a bit.

Yes, That is the kind. None of my brass tarnishes.... LOL... Secrect blend of brass... Joking of course... I am sure it will start turning for you at some point.

I live near an international airport. I figure the sulphur in the air ought to do the trick if nothing else will.

It's just a funky reflection from the flash/reflector off of the black 0-ring.

Oops, it may actually be the leading edge of the glass lens !

I've almost got my brass one ready for use. Only took a spray bottle of saltwater and several humid days outside in the sun. I have to say, I've never seen brass that was so hard to tarnish, except maybe the stuff they make Sacajawea dollar coins from.

I really like the way those look. A complete light out of the darkened brass or even Copper would look really nice.

I think bronze would be a better choice than brass if you were going to make a light out of a pre-darkened copper alloy. The brass is a bit too yellow for my taste, though that might change once the brightened areas have a chance to tarnish a bit.

Hey fyrstormer, where did you get those p60 ti bezels?

They were "donated" by Fireworm F1 hosts. The bezel rings originally had six blunt teeth on them, which I have since shaved down using a bench grinder.

I really like them. I have a similar setup but I'm looking for something ti or stainless steel p60 bezels like yours.

If stainless steel is acceptable, I think Solarforce has something that meets your needs. There may or may not be any Fireworm F1's left for sale online. If nothing else, I'm sure TnC can make you one.
