There has been a tangential mention of these lanterns but I am surprised to see no thread devoted to these. At a rating of 185 lumens max, these are the brightest AA based lanterns.

Favour Light LTC-20E4AA-L: http://www.favourlight.com/1/#products/LTC-20E4AA-L

The difference between these two models seems to be that the L version has a lens for a more focused beam in flashlight mode.

These appear to be marketed under several names including:
UCO MightyLite Flip Lantern: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001Q94GQI/?tag=cpf0b6-20
Eureka! Magic 185 Lantern/Flashlight: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002NM39VA/?tag=cpf0b6-20
CREE 185 Lumens Multi-functional LED Lantern and Torch: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045WFX7O/?tag=cpf0b6-20

It was also previously sold as eGear Spirit and I have seen it on eBay on occasion under the generic Cree 185 Lumens title. There is a Camp Chef Cree lantern and an Ultrafire branded lantern that look similar but are rated for less output. The Camp Chef model in particular is missing the blinking locator LED as can be seen on the picture on Amazon.com, so it is probably not the same model but probably from the same family.
Camp Chef Cree Bright LED Lantern/Flashlight Combo: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004S37HFG/?tag=cpf0b6-20

Along with its smaller cousins, the LTC-1613AA/LTC-1613AA-W (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...Favourlight-Mini-Lantern-Disambiguation-Guide), these are currently the brightest AA based lanterns around. I intend to get one of these soon. If you already have one, please post your reviews.

It's good to see a guide started on this model. I meant to start one myself, but kept getting wrapped up in other projects.

Thanks LanternLover for starting this thread.

I have 2 of these. On lantern mode, very adequate for a small room such as a bathroom. It's a notch down in brightness when compared to my Rayovac 300. Glary if this is a concern to you. Hanger is on the base for tent hanging. 2 brightness levels.

When inserting batteries, you have to be a bit careful lining up the base. Not a problem for a flashaholic though.

On flashlight mode, very floody. Good if you shine it against the ceiling for a general light. Good if you shine it down on the ground just to find your way.

All in all very competent. Much lighter than the Rayovac 300 - hence more portable. Good if you need a combination light. But not the first choice to pierce the darkness a 100 feet away.

Aloha.

Apparently, this is also sold as:
MacTronic CAMP PRO MINI LT-185AA
XGlow XC-1001.
LiteXpress 103 (This might be XP-C Version though, as the homepage states only 141lm. -> http://www.litexpress.com/en/lanterns/camp/camp-103/ Some shops state 185lm though.)

(All found in Germany.)

I ordered the MacTronic branded version and will post my findings. :)

Btw: I ordered from the well known company Mertrado.
