Hi guys I want to build a new light and have some spare Cree MCE Leds
Can I use an MCE in 2S2P configuration and use the new
GDup high power convertors and powered by a 17670 cell?
its been a while since I last made a light (4 years) and a bit rusty on the math
Thanks in advance

Battery voltage must be in the 3-5V range like a single lithium type battery and the LED however configured must look like a single LED with Vf around the 3V range. The GD and GDuP can not drive two LEDs in series unless they are new super ubber LEDs with Vf of 2V each at the maximum drive current.

Wayne, so the only driver you sell that can drive the MC-E in 2s2p is the badboy?
I've built a few LuxV lights and have always used the badboys.

I've had success using a BB1000 driving a MC-E in 2S2P off a pair of CR123
Your only going to get 500ma per die unless Wayne can juice up a Badboy to 1400ma

I've used SOB1000s and SOB1227s to run 2S2P MC-Es. But neither will work well if you want to use only 1xLi-ion. You'll need at least 2xLi-ion (barely enough to reach full regulation for the SOB1227), and preferably 3xLi-ion (or the equivalent in terms of Vbatt).
