You are brave... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Looks like the circuit board took a round through the heart, and I think it killed it!

nice, what a waste of a tail cap though, seeing how your crafty with tools and machinery, couldnt you have rigged a aluminum piece with threads on it as a tailcap?

Yeah, I wish I could've rigged up a temp tailcap, but I can't cut threads on my lathe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

No problem though, in order to put the batteries in the "right" way, I have to machine up some new bits for the tailcap anyway.

All the rest of the parts are dead, deAD, DEAD. lol

I recently solicited another CPF member for the donation of dead convertor boards. I don't think I'll bother you about this one. Chief, you have really been on a roll since you got that lathe. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Wow, I can't wait to see how the rest of the mod turns out!!!

If a McFlood fits I'd bet that a low profile Fraen would also fit...

That's the plan...for the other one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This one's going to be a replacement for my 3AA Brinkmann w/ McFlood.

Hopefully Round #2 will be posted by the end of the week. I already have the McFlood and o-ring fitted.

Nice mod Chiefy! Agree with what StoneDog says, about the Fraen? Reason is since you got a HD going in there anyway, might as well make the X5T throw a little, would really surprise first time onlookers (especially the X5T owners). In fact, how does the McFlood work with HDs, anyway?

Actually, pretty well. Although, the LD really does look better.

I suppose since my Fraens should be coming in any day now, I'll have to give them a shot and see what I think.

Nice job! I cut an early model apart for a sucessful UV conversion, but don't recommend it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif A suggestion for others that might attempt this: use the all-thread as the core for a slide hammer (heavy piece with a hole that slides over the threaded rod) to "hammer" it out without destroying the tailcap. May be too heavily epoxied to work, but worth a try.
