I want to make a McLux!

I want to make a McLux. I want a shorty McLux (single cell), with the PR head and a 1W LS. I want this to be bright and beamy.

This will be my first homemade.

I think I need one of the stepup converters. So I am planning on getting the BB500 converter along with a 1W LS.

At the Sandwich shop, I see the 1W LS, but what style LED should I get?

I think I want just the LED, not batwing, so that means the lambertian HD, correct?

I have done alot of cpf forum reading and DIY McLux PDF, but not to surprised at myself for still being confused.

I think you will want the HD. This ussually produces the tightest beam patern.
