Can I drive a battery-powered headlight (like Dinotte 200L) with a dynamo?

Hi, I am new to the forum, and I tried to search the archive but wasn't able to find answers. I have several generator wheels and have used them with B&M IQ Cyo and am really happy with them. I also have a Dinotte 200L powered by a NiMH battery pack.

I was wondering if somehow I can drive the Dinotte with a dyno wheel. I have the standard SON and Shimano dynohubs.

Probably you can, but it might be a bit dim, depends on what the Dinotte voltage requirement is. You might have to regulate or boost it.

If the light is designed for the AC output of the dynamo hub, then it'll work fine.

If the light is NOT designed for AC, and runs on DC, you'll have to locate/build a rectifier/mosfet/circuit that'll convert the AC to DC for charging or powering purposes.
