Fake Sony 3000

People ask about these from time to time , and my brother got suckered by these [ yeah - he should have asked ]

Anyhow , I ran one through my Imax B6 @ 500mA discharge rate

Drum role plz ............... 970mAh capacity when discharged to 3v [ Wow thats one heck of a 16340 !!! oh wait , itsa 18650 ? ]

There you have it , C**P in a wrapper !

Dare I speculate ? Perhaps these cells came from a dumpster outside a chinese battery manufacturer , Id hate to think one of the manufacturers would sell reject cells to anyone to put in a wrapper and sell to the public ..

But thats what these are in my opinion , c**p in a wrapper .

To claim 3000mAh capacity and deliver 970mAh , Dare I say it would be nice if some of the online Retailers / re-sellers simply would not stock rubbish like this , it would be nice if they attempted to maintain some sort of standard ! [ It would be nice ]

I say , these batteries are for the punters , want a sure thing , buy something tested and proven .

Why does sony not persue people that are using there trade mark to sell crap?
Looks like it would be a major threat to their brand name. Especially when its something of such low quality as this.

Re: Fake Sanyo 3000

If you take the wrapper off, is there any marking on the cell itself? If there is any way of telling the manufacturer short of dismantling the cell, looking for any identification marks is going to be the best possibility.

Yeah , the kitchen counter ! I've had complaints about it , some folks want something more attractive for a back-drop .

Re: Fake Sanyo 3000

Any 18650 rated @ 3000mah, everyone know the result
Even AW is only offering 2600 or @max 2900, not to mention others
you shouldve been more clever
Sony does not offer 18650 in this way, but in notebook cellpack
and the english on the wrapping...
100% china crap
