Eneloop XX Question

I have a Zebralight H51fw and a SC51w on the way.

Will I get noticeably longer runtimes with an Eneloop XX compared to a standard Eneloop in my Zebralights?

Although I don't have any yet to test, their specs suggest 25% more capacity in the AA's (2500 mah vs 2000 mah) - which should translate to roughly 25% more runtime at the same output.

The trade-off is increased cost, and fewer recharge cycles (lasting only up to 500 cycles, vs up to 1500 for standard Eneloops).

Yes, in nearly all applications you should expect to get ~25% longer runtime.

With the Eneloop XX cells, Sanyo managed to pull of a difficult feat: increased capacity without increasing internal resistance. The only real sacrifice they seemed to make was cycle life, as archimedes suggested.

Whether or not the extra cost is worth it (nearly 2X cost for that extra 25% capacity) depends on your application.
