wow... people pay $700 for bike lights? I was also surprised at the power levels. Didn't realize that some lights were putting out well over 2000 lumens.

Nice to see that there are still companies in business making bike lights, and haven't all been displaced by the Chinese made lights. I can certainly see the appeal of the low cost of the Chinese lights, but I can also see the appeal of a light built with a high level of quality. Nothing takes the fun out of a bike ride like having to slowly ride home with a small backup light, or with no light at all!

price means a lot less to me than the performance, quality and reliability of the light. I'm not going to buy something like a magicshine and take my chances. It's either DIY or a quality name brand.
