Seriously, I did buy a hand held crank unit from DX once for about $6. I just threw it into an existing order just out of curiosity. It's about the size of a candy bar It uses six 5mm emitters. You crank it for about 30 seconds and it's good for 30 minutes of declining output.
The funny thing is when I received it I realized it has two modes
LED mode and red laser pointer mode!
Apparently the rechargeable battery built-in is a LSD type since I don't really use it but have it in my desk drawer at home. I sometimes pull it out and see if the laser still works and it does for a long time.
OK, I have the hand held unit so my challenge to you guys is who will be the first to order the headlamp version...Bolster?
