The WOW factor new light

I had mentioned in another thread about a project that I was
working on and needed to do some testing first.

Well, I was hoping to get close to a target Lumen output that we
had set. We got to that target and surpassed it! We were able to
get upwards of almost 30% over the target with some of 6 test
samples. When we first lit one off we both said WOW. Just like the
part of the 'Great Escape' movie when they tasted the first booze
from the still.

The output is just stunning, but with the QTC pill included you will be
able to use the light in a practical way also.

I hope to get them into the mail to RMSK early next week. If you want
to WOW somebody with a modern light, this is the one. No one will
believe the amount of light that comes out of this thing.

We have decided to call the light VESUVIUS like the stratovolcano on
the Bay of Naples that destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum in 79 AD.
That event was unexpected as is the eruption of light output from this
flashlight.

You're a tease, Curt. ;)

How about a few details? Battery, emitter, output, runtime?

I'd like to say WOW as well but I need details like size, emitter and number and type of battery.

C'mon Curt!
Just a little more info please.

I'm imagining an XM-L in something Logan sized.....with electronics that can handle more than 1 amp of course.

There is only one SF light that has a greater Lumen output than the
Vesuvius, and it uses 3 CR123A batteries and cost $695 USD. The
Vesuvius in HA will cost 1/10 th the money and be pocket-able. It
uses the Cree XML LED and is driven at up to 1.9 Amps to the LED.
That is 650 Lumens bare bulb. Out the front Lumens will be at least
double or more than that of any other light of remotely close the the
size of the Vesuvius. And that includes all of SF's other LED lights and
that of any other manufacturers lights.

Will it be available in all metals and finishes?

I'm really trying to ask just general questions, as opposed to "please tell us everything!"

The guessing game drives me crazy.....:banghead:

Is it compatible with existing bodies and accesories?, Peak has a great range covered there, historically for pocketable lights the upgrade has been the head of the light, curious to see the design for the head that houses an Xm-L; the optics/reflector of choice, and the heat dissipation decisions taken

We already have a good deal of answers in Curt´s posts:

-Pocketable (possible compatibility with existing peak parts and possibly single cell capable)
-Xm-L driven at 1.9 amps max (VERY bright)
-QTC
-around $70 in price

some questions of interest:

-runtime
-heat management (for how long is it safe to run the light, at that size its reasonable that a few minutes is tops)
-about materials (seems HA Aluminum could be a good choice for this one)
- availability
-Pics/videos please?

Please release the NDA for those sworn to secrecy :D

dang it all...just when you think you are out...they pull you back in.
Sounds like a Logan on Steroids- most likely AW IMR (red) cell to realize full
output.
IIRC there was a Vesuvius on the OLD peak sales DVD many moons ago that never made it to production.
